The Muttontown Club provides a sense of gracious civility packaged with a generous dose of modern-day comforts. Our members not only enjoy the manor's elegant interior and staffed fitness center, but also 5 Har-Tru clay tennis courts, an oversized pool, basketball court, splash pad, and an 18-hole golf course that offers an abundance of play for men and women alike. With its tight tee shots and intricate greens, golfers rate the course as challenging, yet uniquely approachable.

Personalized tennis activities include adult clinics and children's programs, and our free-form pool is surrounded by a spacious deck, lounge chairs, and poolside dining. Just steps away is the Pool House Grill, serving up refreshing beverages, sandwiches, icy treats, and more.

The culinary team prepares scrumptious cuisine year-round in The Clubhouse and on the Terrace, and our social calendar is filled with barbecues, wine tastings, casual nights, pool parties, card games and so much more!

History of the Club

The Muttontown Club is a prestigious Country Club located in East Norwich, New York on the north shore of Long Island, New York, on a magnificent estate with rolling hills and gardens.  The Club is home to an 18-hole golf course, which opened in 1962.  The Muttontown Club is one of the most distinguished clubs in the area.  Its elegant clubhouse, a Georgian mansion, houses three dining rooms, conference rooms, lockers rooms, a fitness facility, card rooms, a pro shop, cart room and administrative offices.  The clubhouse reflects the special qualities of the membership—elegant, distinguished and understated.  The club also boasts a tennis and pool complex which includes an Olympic size pool, tennis courts, locker facilities and a poolside café.

The mansion which serves as The Muttontown Club's distinctive clubhouse was originally constructed by Howard C. Brokaw in 1919 and took five years to complete.  It became known as "The Chimneys" because of the many 26 fireplaces and 13 chimneys which are spread through the 44 room Georgian mansion.

The founders of The Muttontown Club believed that the magnificent estate with its rolling hills and gardens would be ideally suited to become a golf and country club.

Their dream became a reality in 1960 when the estate was purchased by the Club's founders.  The Muttontown Club is now regarded as one of the most beautiful country clubs in the New York metropolitan area.
